Presented by: NancyJean Morrison
Every child has special gifts that begin to
emerge as early as four or five years of age, which
parents and caregivers are in the unique position
of observing and nourishing. Identifying a young
person’s talents can mean the difference between
surviving the tur bulent adolescent years or
drowning in them.
This presentation is designed to help parents
and caregivers discover and nourish the talents
of those under their care. There will also be
information about the importance of setting goals
and coping with failure.
Nancy Jean Morrison taught Kindergarten,
1st and 2nd grade students in the Keystone Oaks
School District for 40 years. Copies of her book How
to Help Your Children Pursue Their Natural Gifts will
be available for purchase after the program.

Shakespeare Anniversary Week
Historians believe William Shakespeare was born on Apr. 23, 1564 and “shuffle(d) off
this mortal coil” (Hamlet) a short 52 years later on the same day in 1616. In honor of his
contributions to art and culture over the past 400 years, please join us for:
Celebrating Shakespeare
Saturday, Apr. 23, 1 – 2 p.m.
Presented by: Jane Hollman
For adults and teens grade 7 and up
On this 400th anniversary of Shakespeare’s death, we are going to talk
about his life and his work. How did this son of a glove maker become
the most successful playwright of his time? How did the First Folio, a
collection of his poetry and 37 plays, become the most quoted work
by a single author? And, finally, how does Shakespeare still have an
impact on our lives today?
Jane Hollman, a former high school English teacher and fervent
Shakespeare fan, will provide some background of the English
Renaissance and of Shakespeare’s contributions to his time. She will
lead us to identify Shakespeare’s relevance in our time. In honor of
Shakespeare’s birthday, we will share a birthday cake after the program!
