This holiday season, make a monetary gift or volunteer to keep
the historic Palace Theatre going in 2017 and for generations
to come. Owned and operated by the nonprofit Westmoreland
Cultural Trust, Palace Theatre provides a historic and theatrical
venue for community artists. As a nonprofit, it relies on a dedicated
group of volunteers to help direct visitors to their seats, take tickets
and assist with any questions guests may have. If you are friendly,
cheerful, personable and over the age of 18, consider getting
involved with your community and become a volunteer. Visit the
website for regulations and other information.
PROJECT LINUS
Drop-off Locations: Check the website for the drop‑off locations in the east
suburbs.
Contact: projectlinuspgh.org
Use your creative talents to help kids this holiday season! This
project’s mission is simple: to provide love, a sense of security,
warmth and comfort to children who are seriously ill, traumatized,
or otherwise in need. It does this by giving them gifts of new,
handmade blankets, quilts and afghans, lovingly created for
Project Linus by volunteer “blanketeers.” The blanketeers are part
of the mission as well, seeking to provide a rewarding and fun
service opportunity for interested individuals and groups in local
communities, for the benefit of children. Visit the website for more
information on donating specifications and other information.
