Maddie Ziegler , Penn Hills native and popular former star of the Lifetime TV series “ Dance Moms ,” appeared on the cover of the July 2022 issue of Cosmopolitan magazine ! She appeared on “ Dance Moms ” from 2011-2016 . Since leaving the show , Ziegler has been a judge on “ So You Think You Can Dance ,” and published a New York Times Bestselling memoir , “ The Maddie Diaries .” She ’ s also appeared in several film roles , including Steven Spielberg ’ s “ West Side Story ,” in the role of Velma .

Looking for a great place to hang out with your best friend ? The Penn Hills Dog Park offers a nice area for your dog to run and is fenced with chicken wire . There are no restroom facilities on-site or water source , so you will need to bring water for your pet . It ’ s a lovely place that ’ s open daily from 9 a . m .– 6 p . m ., March through December , located at 1299 Jefferson Heights Road ( 15235 ).

The Morrow Barn has been one of Penn Hills ’ most recognizable structures for 183 years ! Since 1921 , it has come under the care of the Penn Hebron Garden Club . The barn became an officially designated Pittsburgh Historical Landmark in 2015 and continues to be one of the most unique event venues in eastern Pittsburgh .
