Cultural District Comes to Your Backyard

Pete the Cat is singing about Pittsburgh and your groovy town too ! The Citizens Bank Children ’ s Theater Series is bringing enthralling storybooks to life at Downtown Pittsburgh ’ s Byham Theater and at Penn Hills High School with thrilling physical feats and spectacular singers and dancers . Pete the Cat is just one of four shows grooving its way across the stage in your town this season . The first show of the series , Dog Loves Books , will be in Penn Hills on Wednesday , Nov . 16 , at 7 p . m . Pete the Cat dances and sings at the same time on Jan . 11 , followed by the stunning acrobatics of Galumpha on Feb . 15 . The last show of the season in the area will be Circo Comedia on March 8 , a physical comedy duo that uses music , magic , and roller skates .
If your teens and tweens are looking for more adventurous theater , the EQT Bridge Theater Series presents exciting shows downtown . Percy Jackson in The Lightning Thief and some seriously cool puppets in The Man Who Planted Trees come to life for audiences ages 7 and up .
Both series serve as a wonderful countdown for the EQT Children ’ s Theater Festival , which offers international children ’ s theater and fun activities that the whole family can enjoy from May 18 – 21 , 2017 . Don ’ t miss the final performance of the 2016-2017 Citizens Bank Children ’ s Theater Series : Elephant and Piggie ’ s We are in a Play ! To kick off your summer , the Dollar Bank Three Rivers Arts Festival offers another opportunity for families to explore the arts downtown with 10 days of free music and art .

District for the 2016‐2017 PNC Broadway in Pittsburgh series , including shows such as The King & I and Finding Neverland . Younger children will love Cohen and Grigsby Trust Presents : The Wiggles for one night only on Sept . 27 at the Byham Theater .
