TIME TRAVEL !
Do you ever wish you could travel back in time to another era ? You can actually take a short stroll through history when you visit historical places , and hold centuries-old artifacts in your hands . The past comes alive again when we hear the stories of those who ’ ve come before .
The Verona Historical Society has a group of volunteers who work to preserve our past so that everyone can experience what life was like in another era . The organization presents interesting programs throughout the year , and will have three summer road trips to nearby areas in southwestern Pennsylvania .
The 2025 Movie Series kicks off with “ A Cemetery Special ” on Jan . 16 , a WQED production narrated by Rick Sebak . Then on Feb . 20 , “ North Side Story ” will be presented — another WQED documentary with Sebak .
In the spring , the 2025 Speaker Series will begin with a talk by
Dick Williams on the legendary painter Norman Rockwell , to be held March 20 .
On April 17 , “ The Woman Behind the Scandal ... Evelyn Nesbit & America ’ s First Trial of the Century ” will be presented by Megan Adams . This fascinating model and actress of the early 20th century , who was born in Tarentum , became the toast of New York and had two powerful businessmen vying for her attention —
which led to the murder of one ! Don ’ t miss this intriguing true story .
A series of three Summer Road Trips will begin in June . The first journey will be to Harmony Museum in Butler County .
