Penn Hills High School will be presenting “ Shrek , the Musical ” April 25-28 . This wonderful production is based on the 2001 DreamWorks Animation film . It will be a great night to get out and support the young performers and crew , with fun entertainment for the whole family ! MUSIC IN THE BARN !
Singer / songwriter and guitarist Rupert Wates kicked off the Penn Hills Coffeehouse series on March 27 at the Penn Hebron Barn , located at 237 Jefferson Road . The historic barn is a great setting for sitting back and listening to good music and enjoying a cup of coffee .
On Friday , April 5 , you can help “ Rock the Barn ” in a fundraiser featuring the band The Poor Souls . Tickets are $ 20 in advance or $ 25 at the door , and includes light refreshments and beer .

KERR MUSEUM IN FASHION !
See elegant fashions from the late 1800s to the “ roaring ” 1920s , now on display at the Kerr Museum in Oakmont . The garments have been donated by the W . H . Brown family of Pittsburgh . The Brown Collection will be on display at the museum through Aug . 23 .

SHAKESPEARE IN THE PARK !
Come out to Cribbs Field in Verona for a little Shakespeare in the night ! The New Renaissance Theatre Company will present “ Much Ado About Nothing ” on Saturday , June 29 at 7 p . m . They will be back at Cribbs Field on Saturday , July 6 at 7 p . m . for a return engagement , performing either “ Twelfth Night ” or “ What You Will .” The actors will be in renaissance costume , but the script is totally unrehearsed — which sometimes leads to hilarious results !
These performances are free , but donations allow them to continue to present accessible Shakespeare . Come out and enjoy the shows !
