This Halloween-themed event is a 5K run and walk . The route is mapped out within the 66 acres of the park . Following the race , the festivities will continue with an after-party including an award ceremony , health fair , music , food , and fun activities for all ages .

Recommended for ages 8 and over , the Hobgoblin Hikes are half-mile outdoor guided walks through the haunted woods of county parks . Visitors can expect to be led through mazes and cemeteries , and past more than 100 ghouls , goblins and monsters . The events are free and will be held regardless of weather conditions . The hikes are offered to provide a safe , familyfriendly alternative to trick-or-treating . Visitors are welcome to dress in costume . Parents are encouraged to attend with their children .

Join Allegheny Land Trust staff and Western PA Mushroom Club identifier Julie Travaglini for a mushroom walk at Dead Man ’ s Hollow . This slightly spooky 0.9-mile hike along the Great Allegheny Passage will include the haunted history of the hollow and fungi hunting ( no foraging ). Costumes are welcome . Hike takes place rain or shine . No walk-ins will be permitted .
