Spring Community Classes

Senior Citizens Classes Available at NO CHARGE
The Norwin School District is pleased to offer a variety of classes at NO COST to residents who are 62 and older. Classes are available for Norwin School District residents who live in Irwin Borough, North Irwin Borough, or North Huntingdon Township. Proof of residency is required.
Please register by submitting the form provided on the following page. Available class seats will be provided on a first-come, firstserved basis. In the event that a maximum class size is reached, registrants will be placed on a waiting list with the possibility of additional class dates being added.
Technology classes will be held at Norwin Middle School located at 10870 Mockingbird Dr., North Huntingdon, PA 15642. For additional information, please contact Ms. Lacie Tavares, Athletic Department Secretary, at 724-861-3006.

HOW TO AVOID TECHNOLOGY SCAMS Thursday, February 12, 2026, from 3:30-5:30pm
According to the FBI’ s 2022 internet crime report, over 80,000 people over the age of 60 were victims of online fraud in that year alone reporting over $ 3.1 billion in losses. In this class, you will learn about current scams and how to protect yourself. Course topics include, but are not limited to, the following:
• Identifying signs & indicators of fraudulent activity to prevent becoming a victim
• Recognizing common themes of deception
• Recognizing uncommon requests for payment / money transfers
• Becoming aware of how fraudulent activity can happen on common communication platforms and social media sites
• Learning identity theft prevention measures
The district is partnering with the North Huntingdon Township Police Department to provide this course.
SENIOR CITIZEN WATER AEROBICS Coordinator: Lynn Clark Days / Dates: Sundays: February 22; March 1, 8, 15, 22 Location: Norwin High School Natatorium Time: Session 1: 5:00-6:00pm; Session 2: 6:00- 7:00pm Cost: No Cost to Norwin Residents – Open to All Residents
Participants must complete and return the registration form in order to attend the session.
IPHONE BASICS Thursday, March 12, 2026, from 3:30-5:15 pm
This class will teach you useful iPhone features to make life a little easier. Please bring your Apple iPhone to this class. Course topics include, but are not limited to, the following:
• iPhone basics including buttons, gestures and typing
• Finding and installing apps
• Browsing the internet
• Making video calls
• Taking photos with the iPhone
• Configuring settings
USING YOUR PHONE AROUND TOWN Thursday, April 9, 2026, from 3:30-5:15 pm
This class will teach you useful iPhone features to make life easier and navigate your way around town or on vacation. Also, we will discuss how to take, share, & markup photo memories. Please bring your Apple iPhone to this class. Course topics include, but are not limited to, the following:
• Using map features on your phone
• Finding restaurant reviews
• Travel reviews
• Taking and sharing photos
• Translating languages
