Honoring Our Veterans

Throughout the District last month Norwin students and staff proudly honored the brave men and women who have served our country. Each of the K-6 buildings hosted its own meaningful Veterans Day program, featuring music, student work, and heartfelt expressions of gratitude.
At Sheridan Terrace, more than 80 veterans attended the annual program on November 10. Fourthgrade students performed patriotic songs and delivered speeches, and a special slideshow featuring photos submitted by families to honor loved ones who have served or are currently serving. Hallway displays showcased student artwork and messages, while a memorial installation highlighted veterans connected to Sheridan Terrace staff and students, including those who are no longer with us.
Stewartsville Elementary hosted its Veterans Day celebration honoring those who have served with student performances and a presentation of the colors by the JROTC. Guests enjoyed refreshments provided by Burning Oaks Coffee, a veteran-owned business.
At Hahntown Elementary, students and staff recognized more veterans through prepared readings and a musical performance by fourth-grade students. Students at Sunset Valley Elementary welcomed veterans to their Veterans Day program. After the presentation, guests and students created a special craft together to commemorate the morning. Additional programs across the District included a choral performance during the Hillcrest Intermediate Veterans Day ceremony.

Across all buildings, Norwin students, staff, and teachers extend heartfelt thanks to the veterans who have served— and those who continue to serve— to keep our nation safe. orwin
