NORWIN ALUMNI AND FRIENDS ASSOCIATION* CELEBRATES A Knight of Distinguished Alumni First Annual Recognition Dinner Sponsored by Duncan Financial Group O ver the years, the Norwin School District has graduated tens of thousands of students, many of whom have gone on to change the world, touching the lives of their fellow man. Ten of these outstanding graduates – and one special friend of Norwin -- came back to Norwin for a night of special recognition at the first-annual Knight of Distinguished Alumni recognition dinner Thursday, May 25, 2017 at Stratigos Banquet Centre. Nearly 200 people attended the event. After a buffet dinner, the Norwin Alumni and Friends Association (NAFA) introduced and honored the inaugural class of Distinguished Alumni. These honorees have demonstrated how the quality education they received, along with the support of a nurturing community, served as a springboard to great achievements. The evening was emceed by Robert “Bo” Garritano. Music from over the decades was provided by Al Bergman, Class of 1978. Inaugural Norwin Invitational Quiz Tournament Draws 90 Student Competitors Some 90 students from across the region competed at Norwin High School’s first Invitational Quiz Tournament on Saturday, February 4, 2017. Unfortunately, the names of several student competitors were omitted from the spring issue. They are being printed here to give credit to their achievement.
