he graduating seniors are clearly
focused on the future and they are
truly the leaders of tomorrow. Of
the members in the Class of 2016,
approximately 64 percent will be attending
a four-year college; 18 percent a two-year
community college, business, trade, or
technical school; 4 percent will be enlisting
in the armed services; 8 percent will directly
enter the world of work; and 6 percent
are undecided, but they are determined
to follow a productive and contributing
pathway for future success.
At commencement, the valedictorian and
salutatorian, along with all honor graduates,
were recognized. National Honor Society
members were also visible as they wore
honor cords representing the service hours
they completed during their high school
careers.
Scores of graduating seniors earned
scholarships for their academic or athletic
excellence. These honors, as well as the list
of all graduates, are published in the Class of
2016 Commencement Program.
Also, Vespers was held Wednesday, May
20, 2015 in the high school auditorium.
During this time of reflection, several
seniors shared inspirational messages
and readings about graduation and the
future. Vespers speakers included Dylan
J. Colcombe, Garrett T. Ekis, Chelsea M.
Smith, Genevieve R. Skaryak, Sara H. Merritt,
Brandon J. Tauber, Lauren E. Kratzenberg,
and Abagail L. Carly. Musical selections
were provided by the Vespers Choir.
At Commencement, friends and
family of the graduates also heard the
Commencement speakers give their
final farewells to Norwin High School.
The seniors speaking at Commencement
were Dominique E. Petach, Kevin J. Crust,
Victoria R. Carrick, Hannah E. Rusinko,
