Norwin School District graduated 373 students at a ceremony held Friday, May 27, 2016 at Norwin Knights Stadium. or win N orwin S chool District News T he graduating seniors are clearly focused on the future and they are truly the leaders of tomorrow. Of the members in the Class of 2016, approximately 64 percent will be attending a four-year college; 18 percent a two-year community college, business, trade, or technical school; 4 percent will be enlisting in the armed services; 8 percent will directly enter the world of work; and 6 percent are undecided, but they are determined to follow a productive and contributing pathway for future success. At commencement, the valedictorian and salutatorian, along with all honor graduates, were recognized. National Honor Society members were also visible as they wore honor cords representing the service hours they completed during their high school careers. Scores of graduating seniors earned scholarships for their academic or athletic excellence. These honors, as well as the list of all graduates, are published in the Class of 2016 Commencement Program. Also, Vespers was held Wednesday, May 20, 2015 in the high school auditorium. During this time of reflection, several seniors shared inspirational messages and readings about graduation and the future. Vespers speakers included Dylan J. Colcombe, Garrett T. Ekis, Chelsea M. Smith, Genevieve R. Skaryak, Sara H. Merritt, Brandon J. Tauber, Lauren E. Kratzenberg, and Abagail L. Carly. Musical selections were provided by the Vespers Choir. At Commencement, friends and family of the graduates also heard the Commencement speakers give their final farewells to Norwin High School. The seniors speaking at Commencement were Dominique E. Petach, Kevin J. Crust, Victoria R. Carrick, Hannah E. Rusinko, Paige G. Pristas, Adam T. Ott, and Cole S. Dempsey. These commencement speakers were chosen for their eloquence, facial expression, articulation, posture, vocal variety, and eye contact throughout an audition process. The senior class advisor is teacher Ms. Lori Anselmino, assisted by teacher Ms. Peggy Bryan. Here are details about the Class of 2016: Number of Graduates: 373 Valedictorian: Kevin J.
