NORWIN SCHOOL DISTRICT NEWS
The Norwin School District proudly hosted a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Wednesday, March 4, to celebrate the official completion and opening of the new Norwin High School Performing Arts Center. The event welcomed members of the Norwin Board of Education, teachers, staff, community members, District administration, and project partners who helped bring the renovation to life. Guests enjoyed a first look at the transformed space and were greeted with a special sneak peek of the Norwin Theatre Company’ s spring production of Mamma Mia!, offering an exciting preview of the performances that would soon take place on the newly renovated stage.
Throughout the evening, attendees had the opportunity to explore the many improvements made to the facility. Visitors learned about enhancements to the theater’ s lighting and acoustics, explored upgrades to the stage, proscenium, rigging systems, and backstage areas, and experienced the improvements made to the large group instruction( LGI) multi-use spaces. These updates not only support performances and instruction but also improve accessibility and safety for students, staff, and guests who use the space throughout the school year.
The new Performing Arts Center provides significant improvements that enhance both education and performance opportunities for Norwin students. Upgraded acoustics allow student voices and instruments to be heard with clarity and pride, while state-of-the-art lighting brings productions to life in new and exciting ways. The renovation also includes modernized instructional and performance spaces designed to meet the needs

The Norwin School District is proud to announce a new Donor Wall, which will be installed across from the entrance of the newly renovated Norwin High School Performing Arts Center( PAC). This 22- foot display offers alumni, community members, families, and dedicated supporters the opportunity to honor our tradition and inspire the future by leaving a lasting mark on the PAC.
The image shows what the final wall design will look like. Plaques are available in five donor levels, starting at $ 100, with limited availability for each size. Levels 4 and 5 were designed with groups in
of today’ s arts and education programs, along with expanded and updated dressing rooms and backstage areas that provide students with a more professional and supportive environment. Additional safety features were incorporated throughout the facility to better protect students, staff, and guests during the school day and at evening events.
The space quickly became a hub for school and community activity. Just days after the ribbon-cutting ceremony, the Norwin High School Student Council hosted its annual Senior Citizen Luncheon on Sunday, March 9, welcoming senior citizens from across the Norwin community into the new facility. Later in March, the Norwin Theatre Company officially opened the stage with its spring musical, Mamma Mia!, giving audiences the opportunity to experience the new Performing Arts Center in action.
This project would not have been possible without the dedication and leadership of many partners. The District extends its sincere thanks to the Norwin Board of Education for their steadfast support and continued commitment to prioritizing opportunities for students. The District is also grateful to the professionals whose expertise brought the vision to life, including the architects of DRAW Collective, Massaro Construction Management, Glancey Construction, and the many contractors who contributed to the project. The completion of the Norwin High School Performing Arts Center represents the culmination of years of thoughtful planning and collaboration, and stands as a meaningful investment in the experiences and opportunities available to Norwin students and the entire school community.
