his school year’s Homecoming carnival raised $3,600 for Reflections of
Grace, a local foundation that is fighting pediatric brain cancer.
The Reflections of Grace Foundation was recently presented the funds by
the presidents of the freshman, sophomore, junior, and senior classes. The
Classes of 2020-2023 hosted the annual Homecoming carnival, which featured
a dunk tank, inflatables, and classic carnival games.
The students chose the Reflections of Grace charity this year in honor
of what would have been Grace Ekis’s senior year. On February 14, 2008,
Grace Elizabeth Ekis, a member of the Class of 2020, lost her battle with
DIPG, a virulent form of brain cancer, and a year later, her family founded the
Reflections of Grace Foundation to uphold her memory and legacy. Members
of the Ekis family accepted the donation on behalf of the Reflections of Grace
Foundation.
