TWENTY YEARS ON CARUTHERS LANE !

In 2004 , The Norwin Public Library opened their brand new facility on Caruthers Lane .

It ’ s hard to fathom . From two rooms in the attic of The Irwin Bank and Trust to the highest circulating library in Westmoreland County for six years running .
Over a million Norwin residents have visited over those twenty years and borrowed over 3 million books and other items . Over a hundred thousand have attended an adult or children ’ s educational program .
We believe the library ’ s success reflects the pride that members of the Norwin community have in ourselves , our schools , and our institutions . We hope you ’ ll join us in looking hopefully towards the future , confident that the library and the community will be prepared to tackle the opportunities and challenges that lay in store .
