Mystery Night
It’s mystery night at the Norwin Public
Library. Someone has poisoned the head
of the Westongrove family. We need your
help to figure out whodunit. So, grab your
deerstalker cap and join us for an evening
of fun. Mystery night will be held on Friday,
October 26th at 6 p.m.
Zoo + Library = Zoobrary?
The Pittsburgh Zoo sure has changed
since opening in 1898. On Wednesday, Sept.
5th at 4 p.m., the Pittsburgh Zoo will be
presenting “Then and Now.” This photographic
presentation will guide participants through
more than a century of growth. Some animal
ambassadors will be part of the presentation.
For ages 18 and over, please.
October is Domestic Violence Awareness
Month
To raise awareness of domestic violence,
the Norwin Public Library will be hosting the
Blackburn Center on Thursday, October 4th
at 6:30 p.m. The program will provide the
information and resources essential for victims
of domestic abuse as well as those who
hope to help someone escape a violent
relationship.
Registration is required for Mystery
Night, Zoobrary, and the Blackburn
Center Domestic Violence Program.

Make It @ The Library
Who says crafts are for kids? A new pair of
programs aimed at adults and young adults
brings the joy of unique and home-made art
to the Norwin Public Library. These are
not your grandmother’s needlepoint.
String Art is a simple concept, utilizing
just paint, string, and paper. But its
potential to create striking artwork is
boundless. Join us on Thursday, August 23rd from 6-8 p.m.
to learn how to explore your creative side with String Art.
Bad Art Night is an opportunity to cut loose
creatively. We supply the materials, or you
can bring your own, and create something
that is uniquely and completely you. A prize
will be awarded for the most outlandish and
creative. Join us for Bad Art Night on Sept 20th from
6-8 p.m.

CHILDREN’S EVENTS
Star Wars Visits the Norwin Public
Library
On Saturday, November 3rd at 1 p.m., the
Starkiller Garrison will be dropping out of
hyperspace to search the library for Rebels,
but never fear. These aren’t your ordinary bad
guys. In fact, their motto is “Bad Guys Doing
Good.” Join us for an afternoon of fun and
Star Wars Trivia with these life-size Star Wars
characters.
Harry Potter Trivia
Drop your Snitch and gather your team
for a rousing evening of Harry Potter Trivia
on October 29th at 6 p.m. Designed for
families and kids age 7 and older, with at
least 1 child on every team. Maximum 6
members per team.

Yoga for Kids!
Help your child find their
Ommmmmmmmm at the Norwin Public
Library. A professional yoga instructor
will be holding free classes for children
between the ages of 8-12. Classes will be scheduled in late
September through early November. Contact Barbara Flynn at
