Gateway Hospice – You Have a Choice; Why Not Choose the Best?
W
hen it comes to choosing
hospice care for yourself or a
loved one, most people don’t
know where to start. When you choose
Gateway Hospice, you not only choose
a hospice that’s been embedded in
the community for more than 15 years,
but a team of dedicated and caring
professionals who will put you first in all
things.
“Most people think there’s only one
hospice and it serves everybody,” said
COO Mary Tobin. “But each hospice is
different, with its own culture. Our care
is based on the needs of the patient and
we go above and beyond. We had one
patient who wanted to go on a fishing
trip and one of our nurses worked with
the family and professionals to make
that happen. Another was able to get
Brad Paisley to autograph items for a
care package for one of our patients
because they were both from the same
hometown.”
Gateway has physician support and
a pharmacy manager on call 24 hours
a day in addition to RNs, LPNs, hospice
aides, chaplain, social workers and a
network of volunteers who all work in
concert for their patients. It also has pet
therapy volunteers and veterans service
representatives who can ensure that the
special needs of veterans are tended to.
