Mission…
Tuesday, Dec. 5, from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m.
Third, Fourth and Fifth Graders—it is time
for your latest mission. We will explore
an exciting engineering activity during
Mission… Registration is required for this
program.
Evening Baby & Toddler Time
Wednesday, Dec. 6, at 6:30 p.m.
Parents, grandparents, babies and toddlers
come together for a half-hour of tickles,
bounces, songs and nursery rhymes to build
important pre-reading skills. No registration
necessary—just toddle on in.
Preschool Potpourri
Wednesday, Dec. 13, from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m.
Preschoolers and their families enjoy a
different learning experience each month.
December: Holiday storytime party. No
registration necessary.
Toddler Time
Each Monday until Dec. 18, 9:30 a.m.
Toddlers and their grown-ups share a lively
half-hour of songs, rhymes and library fun
under the tree in the Children’s department.
No registration necessary. Use Your Imagination Creation Station
Wednesday, Dec. 20, from 7 to 8 p.m.
Kids from kindergarten on up are invited to
unleash their creativity in different ways each
month. Create useful objects to keep or give
away. No registration required.
Baby and Me Storytime
Each Monday until Dec. 18, 9:30 a.m. in the
Playful Parenting Room
Babies and a grown-up companion can join
in songs, rhymes, tickles, parachute fun and
bubbles. This 20-minute baby-centered
storytime ends with a chance for babies and
grown-ups to socialize! Craftpalooza!
Wednesday, Dec. 27, from 10 a.m. to 12
p.m.
Children of all ages are welcome to stop in
and use some of the craft supplies! We will be
making all sorts of fun crafts for everyone to
enjoy. No registration required.
Sidewalk Games
Friday, Dec. 29, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.
Learn to play some new-to-you games that
have been around for years! We’ll play with
jacks, marbles, hula hoops and more during
this fun-for-the-whole-family program. No
registration required.
JANUARY
STEM Storytime
Mondays until Dec. 18, 10:15 to 11 a.m.; 1
to 1:45 p.m.
Children in preschool or kindergarten are
invited to join Miss Kim for STEM Storytime
under the tree in the Children and Teen
Department. Stories, songs, experiments and
activities related to Science, Technology,
Engineering and Math. No registration is
required for this program.
CSI (Children Science Investigators)
Tuesday, Dec. 19, from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m.
Wanted: First and second grade scientists.
Why: To have fun exploring the world around
you.
Registration is required.
Winter Wonderland Storytime
Wednesday, Dec. 20, at 10 a.m.
Caregivers and their children who are ready
to sit for a storytime are invited to the library
for a winter-themed storytime. Books, songs,
dancing and library fun! No registration
required.

Homeschool Meetup: Family Instructors
of North Suburbs (FINS) Robotics Visit
Friday, Jan. 5
Exhibition and robot from 10 to 11 a.m.
Bring a lunch and enjoy time socializing
from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Family Instructors of North Suburbs (FINS)
Robotics will show us their award-winning
robot! Visitors will have the chance to touch
and operate the robot, ask the participants
questions, and parents will get to ask parents
questions! While FINS Robotics is primarily
homeschool students in grades 7 through
12, this is an all-ages event. No registration
required.
FEBRUARY
Homeschool Meetup: Tween Valentine’s
Day Party
Friday, Feb. 2, from 10 to 11 a.m.; 11 a.m.
to 1 p.m., bring a brown-bag lunch and
socialize with other homeschool families
Tweens (9 to 12 years old), make a Valentines
box at home and bring 24 Valentines to
give out! We’ll have cookies, punch, games,
music, “photo booth” and fun! Registration is
required.
