PYCO SUMMER CAMPS 2025
The Pittsburgh Youth Concert Orchestra( PYCO) invites young musicians to spend their summer making music, learning new skills and forming friendships at one of three summer camps:
• Band & Symphony Orchestra Camp( June 16-20, ages 10-14): For string, woodwind, brass and percussion students.
• Jazz Camp( July 14-18, ages 13-18): Open to all band instruments, piano, guitar, bass and drums.
• Chamber Music Camp( July 21- 25, ages 13 and up): For strings, woodwind, brass, harp and piano students. All camps meet daily from 9 a. m. to
2 p. m. at the PYCO School of Music in Wexford and conclude with a student concert.

CELEBRATE WITH THE SHALER GARDEN CLUB THIS SUMMER
The Shaler Garden Club invites you to participate in two exciting events this summer!
First, enjoy a day of inspiration at the 17th Annual Great Gardens Tour on Sunday, July 13, from 11 a. m. to 4 p. m. Explore five beautiful gardens while supporting the Shaler North Hills Library. Tickets are $ 20 in advance or $ 25 the day of the tour, available at the library or online.
Gardeners can also show off their green thumbs by entering the Shaler Great Local Gardens Contest. Submit five photos and a description of your garden to the library by July 1 for a chance to win and possibly be featured in a future tour! MCCANDLESS- FRANKLIN PARK AMBULANCE AUTHORITY RECEIVES DONATION
The McCandless-Franklin Park Ambulance Authority( MFPAA) has received a $ 20,000 donation by local entrepreneur Jason Wolfe, owner of The Wolfe Companies.
“ Supporting the McCandless Franklin Park EMS department is an investment in the safety and well-being of our community. These dedicated first responders work tirelessly to protect us during our most vulnerable moments. It’ s an honor to contribute to their mission and ensure that they have the resources needed to continue their lifesaving work,” Wolfe said.
In 2024, MFPAA responded to more than 9,000 EMS-related 9-1-1 calls, averaging 20 per day.
“ We greatly appreciate the donation by Jason. We will use these funds toward expenses that align with the high-quality care our patients receive,” said MFPAA Chief Chris Dell.
Established in 1977, MFPAA proudly services 64 square miles, with more than 71,000 residents in the communities of McCandless, Franklin Park, Bradford Woods, Pine and Marshall.
9YARDS GOLF LOUNGE EXPANDS TO THE NORTH HILLS
Century Realty has announced an upcoming second location of 9Yards Golf Lounge, which will be at The Block Northway.
Slated to open in August on the shopping center’ s second floor next to Dave & Busters, the new venue will feature cutting-edge golf simulators, cocktails, food, and private event space. 9Yards is currently hiring for this location.
AUBERLE CELEBRATES 37TH ANNUAL ALL- STAR BANQUET

The stars were shining brightly as Auberle celebrated the outstanding successes of many of its program participants at the 37th Annual All-Star Banquet held on March 26.
The organization recognized the hard work, determination and resilience of participants in overcoming significant challenges.
This celebration also brought together community members and supporters to acknowledge the transformative impact of Auberle’ s programs on the lives of the individuals, families and communities it serves.
RED CROSS SEEKS VOLUNTEERS IN PENNSYLVANIA
The American Red Cross of Greater Pennsylvania is calling for more volunteers, especially in rural communities, to assist with disaster response, blood drives and community education efforts.
Volunteers play a crucial role in providing support to families affected by home fires and other emergencies, engaging with blood donors, and promoting emergency preparedness.
