EVENTS AT Northland Library Adult Programming BOOKSHELF BINGO ADULT SUMMER READING Bookshelf Bingo—summer reading for adults—began on Thursday, June 1, and will conclude on Thursday, Aug. 31. Interested adults may register for the program at the upper level reference desk. We will once again offer our bingo sheet, and for each book you read, you get a stamp and an entry to win a prize. When you get a Bingo, you get an extra entry for a prize. The more you read, the better your chance to win! We will have helpful reading lists to help you select the perfect book for you. We will try our hand at some crafts, science experiments and other tinkering types of activities. Drop in for some fun under our very own tree in the Children’s Department. Children of all ages are welcome to be a maker during our Summer Reading Program. Maker Monday for Teens – Kites Mondays from June 12 through Aug. 7 (No event June 26), 3 to 4 p.m. Each week teens and tweens from rising sixth grade to rising twelfth grade are invited to explore their creative side through maker materials. You can do a different project each week or work on one big one for the summer. Come as often as you want. No registration required and all materials will be provided. Preschool Block Party Wednesday, June 14, from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Preschoolers age 3 to 5 with their grown-ups are invited to come and build social skills, STEM knowledge and vocabulary while playing with wooden blocks, magnet tiles, Lincoln Logs and more! Only two rules: no throwing blocks, and no knocking down someone else’s creation. No registration required.
