RON GILSON
When Knowing the Market is Everything
R
on Gilson’s been in the real estate industry in one way or another
for more than 15 years.
After starting out at his father’s real estate appraisal business
at a young age documenting properties and delivering reports, Gilson
took his passion for real estate to another level after graduating from
Robert Morris University with a degree in business administration and
a concentration in finance.
And, returning to the North Allegheny community that he grew up
in, Gilson’s experience and knowledge of the region makes him stand
out among the competition.
“I graduated from North Allegheny. I know this area and I know this
market,” Gilson said. “My appraisal background benefits my clients
because I’m able to price their homes accurately in a market where
the competition is unbelievable.”
On the buying side, Gilson says he focuses on first-time
homebuyers and those looking to move into their second home.
With his wife, Melissa, and one-year-old son, Daniel, Gilson
understands what it’s like to be part of a growing family and the
housing challenges that present themselves to young couples
looking for a home.
“The best part of my job is the satisfaction I get when I find the
perfect home for a family or young couple and know that I’ve helped
them with one of the biggest financial decisions of their lives,” he said.
“I want that house to not only be the perfect house for them, but a
quality investment because I’m hoping they’ll call on me again to sell
it when their family grows or an opportunity arises.”
Gilson is also a Realtor who likes to educate clients along their
homebuying journey.
“This process can be overwhelming for first-time homebuyers or
sellers,” he says. “It’s my responsibility to explain the ins and outs of
the process to my clients so there is no confusion or added stress that
results from them not understanding why this thing or that thing
happens.”
And while he focuses on the North Hills primarily, Gilson is
comfortable working in virtually any market in Western Pennsylvania
— a comfort level he gained
from working in the appraisal
business. His exp
