Oxford
Landscaping
F
or nearly 30 years,
Oxford Landscaping
has been transforming
backyards into
neighborhood centerpieces
for customers. That success
comes from owner John
Swentosky’s dedication to
the customers he serves,
leaving nothing for them to
do other than enjoy the new
landscaping, hardscaping or
outdoor patios or kitchens he
and his crews have built for
them.
“A lot of times, contractors
will leave a property at the
end of a job and it’s not
finished,” Swentosky said.
“Then they have to call us
to bring in mulch or reseed
the property. We do all of
that on every job and we do
everything in-house, so our
customers are never waiting
on subcontractors for work.”
Oxford Landscaping takes
care of every last detail.
Design and construction is a
dedicated part of the business,
with full-time crews doing
nothing but outdoor patios,
kitchens, bars, retaining walls
and installing driveways and
whatever else a homeowner
can dream up.
“I really enjoy the outdoor
areas and still run the field and
design portion of the business.
I’m still out there in the field
every day after 30 years, and
seeing your ideas rise out of
the ground in front of your
eyes is as rewarding today as

Do is ENJOY
it was when I first
started,” Swentosky
said.
“But we go a step
further and make
sure that every
job we leave is left
spotless. All of our
work is guaranteed.
And that guarantee
is something I
don’t worry about
because if a tree or
shrub dies, it’s just
good business to
replace it for your
customer. I budget
for replacements
because things do
die, but it pays for
itself.”
In addition
to design and
construction crews,
Oxford Landscaping also
has dedicated mulch and
clearing crews. As a family
business—with John’s wife,
Kristen, working the office
side—Oxford Landscaping
may have everything to
undertake your largest job, but
you’re still going to get a smile
and a handshake at the end of
the day.
Another thing customers
appreciate about Oxford is
the fact that all contracts
are specific and in writing.
Homeowners know exactly
what they’re getting and
how much it will cost up-
front, so their projects or
annual maintenance work is
completed on time and on
budget without surprises.
And, after 30 years in
the community, Oxford
Landscaping has been a
good neighbor as well by
volunteering for local Mt.
Lebanon causes, donating
hardscapes and labor, and by
supporting the Mt. Lebanon
School District throughout
the years. While a staple of the
South Hills, the company also
serves the North Hills and has
even done custom jobs out
of state for customers who
wouldn’t trust the work to
anyone else.
