Each child’s treatment is personalized and family-centered. We
focus on the needs of the patients and their caregivers because we
know that the key to long-term success is family participation and
understanding. We incorporate families into our therapy sessions,
promoting understanding, a sense of collaboration, and confidence.
In our experience, this approach is key to our patients reaching their
maximum potential and living the most fulfilling lives possible.
Amazing things happen when you restore health to the mind, body
and spirit. At The Children’s Institute, we also offer behavioral health
services, in additional to our physical health services, taking a holistic
approach to care.
Our outpatient behavioral health clinic – led by Dr. Greg
Thorkelson, Medical Director of Behavioral Health Services, and
Amy Devinney, LSW, Director of Behavioral Health – includes a team
of licensed clinicians that
provide comprehensive
support and work with the
family to determine the best
plan of care. From therapy
sessions, to medication
management, to psychiatric
evaluations and more – we’re
here to help your child
achieve amazing results.
“I love that The Children’s Institute tries to break down that barrier
between physical and mental health care, and aims to treat each child
holistically. That’s super exciting to me,” said Christina Jolley, DNP,
CPNP, Behavioral Health Nurse Practitioner at The Children’s Institute
who is currently accepting new patients.
Every case is different. Whether your child is on a mission to recover
from a sports injury, is mentally or developmentally complex, or
needs help dealing with difficult emotions, anxiety or depression, our
experienced team at The Children’s Institute is ready to help.
