FUNERAL SERVICES
or this quarter, I want to give everyone a lot of information
concerning a number of topics. It is a recap of some of the
information I have shared over the last few years.
Why aren’t you preplanning? When a family is struck with
the tragedy of someone passing, there are so many decisions to be
made, Often times we hear people say things like, “I think this is what
they wanted?” So why guess? By planning before the need you are
assuring yourself that you will get the type of service and disposition
you want and not what your family thinks you would like. You make all
the decisions before hand and all that is left for your family to decide is
when would you like to do this. To help families with this preplanning
we have welcomed Mike Swartz to our staff. Mike is a licensed funeral
director and is willing to meet with you to discuss your options and
how preplanning makes sense without an obligation. You can learn
more about Mike on our website at www.sperlingfuneral.com.
Serving in our armed forces is a sacrifice. Because a veteran has
made that sacrifice they are rewarded
with benefits
from the Veterans
Administration.
Those benefits
include funeral
benefits. We help
veterans and their
families claim these
funeral related
benefits. We assist
with everything from
disposition at the
National Cemetery of
the Alleghenies to no
cost death certificates
from the state. We are experts in
the VA burial system. We will gladly
make copies and keep your DD-
214 on file for you. If you have lost
that important document we can
help you attain a copy. Families
often have a hard time finding this
important document which can
lead to delays in the funeral. By
having it on file we help ensure

timely funeral services. If you have any questions please feel free to

More and more families are choosing cremation as a final form of
disposition. We provide those families with many options to have a
fitting goodbye. From services with a viewing to simple cremations.
As cremation continues to grow in popularity so does other ways to
say goodbye. We see a lot of families who do not have a connection
with a church or religion. This doesn’t mean they are not spiritual or do
not want a service. We help those families put together a meaningful
ceremony. Simply speaking we get it and want to help you create that
ser vice that will help you remember, your family member.
Our services to the families and the community are very important
to us. We work very hard to make every service special. From
something very simple to a more in depth community goodbye, we
make sure all details are taken care of. After the service is over our
services don’t stop for the family. One aspect of that is through
grief support. For fifty years we have facilitated grief support
to the community. Specifically for the last nineteen years we
have done that with our Living through Grief program. This
program offers a grief support group for those that have lost
a spouse and a referral system to help those grieving to find
an outlet for their grief. Grief is a sign of enduring love and
needs to be acknowledged. We can help families make that
connection.
As always I hope this information helps. I would like to
remind everyone that we are on Facebook at Sperling
Funeral Home, Instagram and Twitter at @sperlingfuneral
We are more than glad to retweet or share your
community events and help build awareness of the good
stuff going on in this community.
