BABY TIME! Monday mornings at 9:30 a. m. 6 months through 12 months, or not yet walking
STEM STORYTIME( Formerly Science- Tots) Each Monday through April 24, 10 a. m. OR 1 p. m. Each storytime is related to a STEM theme with stories, songs, games and an experiment for children between three and five years old and their caregivers.
PRESCHOOL STORYTIME! Wednesdays at 9:30 a. m. OR 10:30 a. m., Meeting Room 148-1 Children ages three to five along with their caregiver can come on down to the library for a 30-minute storytime.
STORYTIME TOTS Wednesdays at 9:30 a. m. OR 10:30 a. m., Meeting Room 148-2 A“ wiggler” program of songs, action rhymes and stories for parents, toddlers and young preschoolers who might not be ready to be on their own in the Preschool Storytime.
STORYTIME FOR LITTLE WIGGLERS Wednesday evenings at 6:30 p. m. Library fun for babies, toddlers and their grownups! Pajamas welcome.
MUSIC & MOVEMENT Each Thursday at 10:30 a. m. Children able to sit through a 30-minute storytime with music, simple instruments, scarves and dancing are welcome to join us.
HOMESCHOOL MEETUP – Let’ s write a story! Friday, March 3, from 10 to 11 a. m. WQED has a writers contest— bring a story you are working on or just your ideas, or just yourself( we’ ll even provide the pencils!). We will look at past winners and do some writing exercises for inspiration! This is for children in kindergarten through fifth grade. Parents and children may bring a lunch and socialize afterward until 1 p. m. Please register all children.
NORTHLAND LIBRARY CHESS TOURNAMENT Saturday, March 4, at 9:30 a. m. Chess players in kindergarten through eighth grade are invited to register for our annual chess tournament. First and Second Place medals will be awarded in two age divisions: Kindergarten through fourth grade and fifth through eighth grade. Space is limited. Please register each player separately.
MISSION … Tuesday, March 7, 4:30 to 5:30 p. m. If you are in third, fourth or fifth grade and you like to solve problems, find out how things work and create things from your imagination, sign up for some engineering fun. Registration is required.
CHESS SHOWDOWN Saturday, March 11, at 2 p. m. Register for a chance to play Gabriel Petesch, FM. The chess showdown will pit Mr. Petesch
( ranked # 6 in Pennsylvania) against 30 players on 30 boards, all at the same time! Spectators welcome.
CSI( Children Science Investigators) Tuesday, March 21, 4:30 to 5:30 p. m. Children in kindergarten through second grade will explore their world through handson investigation. Registration is required for this program.
ANNUAL FAMILY SLEEPOVER Friday, March 31, at 7: 30 p. m. through Saturday, April 1, at 8 a. m.; Wednesday, June 14, from 6:30 to 7:30 p. m. Children in kindergarten through fourth grade and their families are invited to participate. Bring your favorite pillow / stuffed animal, PJ’ s, sleeping bag or blankets, and a snack to share. Cost is $ 5 per person to cover crafts and breakfast. Please register each member of your family for this fun overnight program.
PRESCHOOL BLOCK PARTY Saturday, March 25, from 10 to 11 a. m. Monday, April 3, from 6:30 to 7:30 p. m. Wednesday, May 17, from 6:30 to 7:30 p. m. Preschoolers age three to five with their grown-ups are invited to come and build social skills, STEM knowledge and vocabulary while playing with wooden blocks, magnet tiles, Lincoln Logs and more!
THURSDAY UNDER THE TREE June 8 through Aug. 3 from 10 a. m. to 12 p. m. Each Thursday we will make something fun. Children of all ages are welcome to be a maker during our Summer Reading Program.
PICTURE BOOK PICNIC Wednesdays at 11:30 a. m., June 14, 21 and 28; July 5, 12, 19 and 26; Aug. 2 Bring a blanket, pack your lunch and listen to stories while you eat! Storytime will be held outside on sunny days and in our meeting rooms if it is stormy( or too hot!) outside. No registration required.
