A one-stop academic center for the entire family!
Is your child struggling with academics or hates school? Does your child attend a preschool where it seems that it is more like a babysitting service? Is your child attending a child care center where the environment is like an overcrowded zoo? If you answered“ yes” to any of these questions, you need to contact Solid Foundations Academy!
Solid Foundations Academy is an academic center that has a drop-in child care center, an accredited preschool and an Academic Specialty Center that contains remediation and enrichment services, vision and auditory therapies, Tutor & Go Programming and much more! Owned by Beth Rupert, former director of the Wexford Academy, Solid Foundations Academy strives to provide quality care to ensure that every child or adult has a sharp mind, strong body and a solid foundation for a successful future!
QUALITY CARE … The drop-in child care center is perfect for children 6 weeks to 10 years old. They offer a flexible schedule for all of your family needs. You can choose from 1 hour to 10 hours of care per day. The before and after school service is a big benefit. You will be impressed by the progressive curriculum where they make sure each child is engaged and having fun!
SHARP MINDS … The unique, academic preschool has programs for children ages 2-5. The two-year-old program gives little ones a chance to socialize and a taste of what school has to offer. The accredited preschool / prekindergarten program offers two sessions for preschoolers: morning and afternoon, and a flexible schedule giving you the option of choosing 3-5 days per week regardless of age. The curriculum is the right balance between learning through play, physical education and teacher-guided academics. They have a research-proven curriculum that provides the skills that sharpens the mind.“ We’ re a feeder school into North Allegheny, and our kids are going into kindergarten more than prepared,” Rupert said. They focus on your child as an individual; they lesson plan to your child not the class as a whole. The small class sizes and exceptional teacher-student ratio provide the opportunities for that special attention.
STRONG BODIES … A sharp mind is fueled by a strong body. Both programs focus on the students’ physical well-being. They provide healthy, safe snacks for your child. The gross motor curriculum promotes body awareness, builds strength and coordination. Every child that is enrolled at SFA gets a FREE Kid-Fit membership that includes a discounted family, gym membership and entitles each child to free tennis lessons and access to the state-of-the-art Sportsplex that houses a large indoor gym, tennis courts, track, an outdoor play deck and tons of land to run and explore!
SOLID FOUNDATIONS … The fun doesn’ t end at preschool / child care; the extracurricular activities will give your child a taste of what the world has to offer! SFA partners with reputable businesses that provide enrichment programs on a daily basis. Classes such as Kids Nutrition Kitchen, Little Laura Mozarts, Center Stage Dance Academy, N-Zone Sports and SFA Lunch Bunch & Literary Days will allow your child to experience new things. In the evenings and on weekends, events for the whole family are offered including family movie nights, Steelers and Pens games, Sundaes with Santa, book drives, Mommy and Me classes and more!
SUCCESFUL FUTURE … The Academic Specialty Center has the right program for a student of any age. The reading, writing and math remediation and enrichment services offer an individualized program which targets your child’ s needs. Since no two students think the same way, the curriculum utilizes hundreds of programs. Other Specialty Services include: SAT / ACT preparation, vision and auditory processing, OT, PT, and speech therapies, ESL supports and school advocacy for 504s and IEPs.
Best of all, while your child is receiving one of our specialized services, you can enjoy all of the amenities that the Sportsplex has to offer!
