dedicating to the North Allegheny Athletic Department for the past 17 years. Bozzuto has previously been recognized by the PSADA as Athletic Director of the Year, a Distinguished Coaching Educator and recipient of the Distinguished Service Award. The Robert Buckanavage Citation will be awarded along with a $1,000 check, which Bozzuto will be using to support the Athletic Department’s initiatives during the upcoming year. The North Allegheny School District (NASD) announces that creative writing pieces by North Allegheny Senior High School (NASH) students Julia Maruca and Mehrnaz Tiv were selected for publication in the 2015 Ralph Munn Creative Writing Anthology. In addition to being published in the anthology, Mehrnaz was awarded 2nd place in the screenwriting category. The Ralph Munn Creative Writing Anthology is an annual publication of the Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh featuring creative writing pieces from high school students in Allegheny County. Maruca’s short story, “Things That Matter,” and Mehrnaz’s screenplay, “Iris”, were two of 56 creative writing pieces selected for publication in this year’s anthology. Nearly 300 submissions were judged by a committee of Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh and Sewickley Public Library staff. Creative writing professors, filmmakers and published authors selected first and second place winners in the categories of Short Prose, Poetry and Screenwriting.
