For over a century , Associates in Ophthalmology ( AIO ), a OCLI Vision practice , has set the standard in eye care . AIO is proud to announce the newest member to the medical staff , Dr . Joshua Paul ! Dr . Paul , was born and raised in Pittsburgh and is excited to start his career in his hometown . He is a glaucoma fellowship-trained ophthalmologist performing cataract and glaucoma surgery , as well as medical management of glaucoma and other comprehensive eye conditions . He is a graduate of The Pennsylvania State University and Drexel University College of Medicine . Prior to joining the team at AIO , Dr . Paul completed a Glaucoma fellowship at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill . He was also Chief Resident at Temple University Hospital and served as an American Academy of Ophthalmology Advocacy Ambassador . He has completed numerous research projects and published articles in several peer-reviewed journals . Dr . Paul will be providing care for new and existing patients at the AIO offices in Butler , Monroeville , Moon , Uniontown , and West Mifflin .
Glaucoma is the 2nd leading cause of blindness worldwide , but in fact , is a treatable disease . There are treatments available that can slow the progression of the disease and prevent loss of vision , especially if it is caught in the early stages . In addition to being a busy eye surgeon , Dr . Paul enjoys spending time with his wife , Anna , rooting for his hometown Pittsburgh Steelers , and currently training for his first marathon .
