MECDC Fashion Show and Taste of Murrysville
The Murrysville Economic and Community Development Corporation
(MECDC) Fashion Show/Taste of Murrysville was held on August 24 at Franklin
Regional Middle School. It was the kick-off event for the weekend Mayor Bob
Brooks proclaimed as “Love Your Local” Weekend in Murrysville. Residents were
encouraged to shop local August 25-27 after the long summer break. Over 200
people attended the event.
It featured the latest fashions from local boutiques including Bare It, The Rack,
Katwalk, Exquisite Bride, and Enchanted paired with accessories from Golden
Creations, Gifted Hands, Berries and Birch Flowers, Your Family Eye Doctors,
Dancer’s Closet, and My Daily Bread. There was something for everyone—back-to-
school styles, homecoming dresses, fall fashions for women and high-end children’s
fashions, modeled by local residents.
All enjoyed a taste of the best eateries in town, from Atria’s, Spinola Bake Shop
and North Park Lounge to Sincerely Yogurt, Starbucks, Eat’n Park, The Olive
Merchant and Giant Eagle.
Donna’s School of Dance kicked off the fashion show with a special number,
and the Franklin Regional Band Flute Trio provided live music. Hair and makeup
accessories were provided by Artisan Color Spa-Salon, Alluring Designs Salon,
European Wax Center and Rive Nail + Skin Care Spa.

community development through advocacy, education and partnerships to achieve
