Although we ’ re all enjoying the outdoors , summertime is prime time for homebuying . Last year brought many interesting changes to the real estate market , starting with a total shutdown due to the global pandemic . Since spring of 2020 , the market has fluctuated , making predictions for what ’ s to come challenging and ever-changing . Many larger cities saw residents give up their pricey urban rentals for homes in the suburbs with more land to spread out . As for Pittsburgh , the affordable housing market is providing remote workers with the opportunity to own a home for potentially less than what they paid for rent in another city , but that ’ s not to say homes are easy to come by .
