Murrysville Concert in the Park to Benefit Murrysville Community Park
Summer sun, the smell of delicious food wafting through the air, children enjoying sno-cones and ice cream, friends and family relaxing on blankets and lawn chairs …. it’ s a perfect setting but what’ s missing? Music! Live bands! Murrysville’ s Concert in the Park will provide all of this and more, including FIREWORKS, Saturday, August 12, 2017, 3:30-9:00 p. m. at Murrysville Community Park, 4056 Wiestertown Road, Murrysville, PA 15632.
This family-friendly concert is free and open to the public and is a fundraiser for the Phase III expansion of Murrysville Community Park; donations to the park fund will be graciously accepted at the event. Park development plans will be on display so guests can provide their comments and ask questions, helping to build their community park.
The Murrysville Volunteer Program will recognize the many community service organizations in attendance, celebrating the dedicated volunteers that help in the parks and community throughout the year.
Food trucks and food vendors such as Earth Wheel and Fire Wood Fired Pizza, Rotary Hot Sausage, Atria’ s, Kona Ice, Hank’ s Kettle Korn
and more will be cooking up specialties, Rivertowne Brewery will be serving root beer and adult beverages, the Sheetz Brothers Coffee Truck will provide cold drinks, while delicious homemade desserts and ice cream will be available throughout the day. Games of chance, raffles, prizes, face painters, lawn games and other fun summer activities are being planned!
Sponsorship and partnering opportunities abound for businesses and organizations to support the concert and Phase III park expansion; contact the Recreation Department to be involved.
Four local bands, Nacho Blues, JJ & Barry, Spectrum, and MoJo“ The Band” will take the stage beginning at 3:30 p. m., each with 45-minute performance times. Nacho Blues hails from Murrysville and performs dancing hits; JJ & Barry bring acoustic renderings of classic favorites from the past six decades; Spectrum is a talented band with special needs who, through their unique bond of Autism and their amazing musical talent, perform throughout the Pittsburgh area. MoJo“ The Band” is a four-piece rock / pop band from Plum Borough performing music from several decades; they will surely play fan favorites!
NOMaD North of Mason-Dixon, kicks it off at 7:45 p. m., ending with fantastic fireworks! NOMaD is one of the region’ s premier live acts supporting hundreds of national acts including Brooks and Dunn, Toby Keith, Rascal Flatts, Little Big Town, etc. The band has also performed at Pittsburgh’ s Regatta, Light Up Night, First Night, and Pyrofest and worked with the Pittsburgh Steelers and Penguins.
This fun afternoon filled with music, family and friends will conclude with the area’ s most spectacular fireworks display, provided by the Yant-Turner Family Fireworks Team.
