FR Panther Foundation Launches Two New Fundraisers
Dancing with the Panthers & The Panther Home Stretch Color Run & Wellness Fair
Dancing with the Panthers
Dancing with the Panthers is a dancing competition
that pairs teachers and administrators from Franklin
Regional with professional dance partners from local
dance studios and colleges. The teams will perform one
dance for a panel of three judges, and the winning team
will win the coveted FR mirror ball trophy. The audience
will also play a role in determining the winners by casting
votes via a phone app for their favorite dance team.
Dance teams are Ron Suvak (FR High School) and
LuAnne O’Brien (Integral Enrichment Center), Dr. Linda
Brecht (Sloan Elementary) and Heather Bungard (Premier
Performing Arts), Audra Meehan (Sloan Elementary)
and Alexis DeSabatine (DeStella Dance Center), Bethany
Weaver (Heritage Elementary) and Lucas Nelson
(Integral Enrichment Center), Crissy Lemke and Allison
Smith (Newlonsburg Elementary), Becky Vincent (Sloan
Elementary) and Logan Badeau (Integral Enrichment
Center), Michelle Longo (FR High School) and Madyson
Baer (Seton Hill University), and Alexis Peifer (Sloan
Elementary) and Nicole Holland (Seton Hill University).

he Franklin Regional Panther Foundation is
excited to announce two new events this year
that will help the Foundation reach its fundraising
goals for 2020. The two events are family-friendly
and aimed at drawing the FR community together for
fun and entertainment. Sponsors for both events are the
FR Panther Foundation and the Power of Bowser.“ This
year, the FR Panther Foundation will host Dancing with
the Panthers on Thursday, April 2, 2020, at 7 p.m. in the
Franklin Regional Senior High School auditorium, and

at the Murrysville Community Park on Saturday, May 30,
2020, from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m.,” said Cara Zanella, Executive
Director. “We hope to sell out each event so we can
meet our fundraising goal of $30,000. The funds raised
will provide financial support for the Innovation Grant
program, which enables Franklin Regional teachers and
coaches to introduce new and exciting programming in
the areas of academics, the arts, and athletics.”

Special performances will be given by FR Middle
School dancers Angelina Fioravanti, Catie Grant, Kamryn
Kurimsky, Jadyn Linde, Laiken Poorbaugh, Adelai Smiach,
and Keira Valenti and FR High School dance duo Elaina
Ciecierski and Joey Linde. There will also be a VIP event
before the show that will include a sit-down dinner, two
special dance performances, and dinner music performed
by a string quartet. Tickets for the show and the VIP
events are available online now at Eventbrite.com. Tickets
are $18 (adults) and $11 (students and senior citizens). VIP
packages are $75 (single ticket) and $100 (couples).
“The dancers have been rehearsing since early January,
and they are all working hard to be the best on the stage,”
said Mrs. Zanella. “We want the entire community to
come out and support their favorite dance team. Every
vote counts!”
The Panther Home Stretch Walk, Color Run &
Wellness Fair
On Saturday, May 30, 2020, Murrysville Community
Park will host The Panther Home Stretch. This unique
event features a 2.3-mile walk, a Color Run, and a wellness
fair. Those who are not inclined to run, but want to enjoy
a brisk walk or stroll, can participate in the walk which
takes people of all ages on a 2.3-mile trail throughout
the park. The Color Run is a fun experience for all ages.
Racers will wear white t-shirts and pass-through stations
where colored powered is tossed on them. Participants in
the Color Run cross the finish line looking like a colorful
rainbow from head to toe. After the races are completed,
visitors will have a chance to explore the Wellness Fair
that will boast vendors and booths addressing a variety
of wellness, nutrition, physical fitness, mind & body
practices, and disease prevention services. Food trucks
and a DJ will also be part of the fun.
