and Fentanyl overdoses has prompted more aggressive enforcement towards the suppliers of narcotics to overdose victims. Murrysville Police detectives have conducted many drug investigations during the reported period and have made many arrests. Included in those are arrests for Delivery of Drugs Resulting in Death. During the reported period many arrests have been made by Murrysville officers during their shifts that have resulted in successful prosecutions or plea agreements. They are too numerous to mention but reflect the accomplishments realized by the training received. A significant amount of the positive public perception toward the police is due to the visibility and active enforcement of traffic laws. During the reported years, the Murrysville police patrol officers have conducted traffic enforcement and commercial vehicle inspections. We believe a significant impact has occurred due to the presence and enforcement of vehicular traffic within the Municipality. The significant number of civilian contacts on the highways with very few complaints exemplifies our professionalism and commitment to make our community safe. In order to keep abreast of trends and threats, three of our officers have been trained in CRASE (Civilian Response to Active Shooter Events). Officers have trained several hundred community members to date on CRASE techniques. A significant accomplishment has been the maintenance of the Accreditation process during the reported period. On March 25, 2006, the Murrysville Police Department became an Accredited Law Enforcement Agency as outlined by the Pennsylvania Chiefs of Police Association under the Pennsylvania Law Enforcement Accreditation Commission (PLEAC). The adherence to and guidance of standards and policies exemplifies the professionalism and competence of the members of the Murrysville Police Department. In order to fulfill the command staff’s obligation under our “Training and Career Development” policy, we have partnered with two premier law enforcement training companies that offer online training courses to our officers at minimum costs. The Response Training Network and Police One Academy have allowed us to offer all of our staff professional law enforcement training of the highest quality.
