During ATA World Expo 2018,
(then) “Chief Master” Michael Caruso
demonstrated his skills at the International
Testing in Little Rock, Arkansas, to achieve
the rank of 9th Degree Black Belt and have
the unique opportunity to carry the title of
Songahm Grand Master.
Recently, the American Taekwondo
Association celebrated its 50th anniversary.
It bestowed the esteemed title to him on July
10, at World Expo 2019, elevating him to
Grand Master Michael F. Caruso.
Grand Master Caruso has been a member
of the ATA for 45 years and you will find him
still teaching at his ATA Martial Arts location
in Murrysville. His goal is always to help the
new generation of ATA practitioners and by
doing so, he continues to leave a legacy.

ROTARY CLUB AWARDS
FR STUDENT FULL
SCHOLARSHIP TO WCCC
Nathan Pangallo, a recent graduate of
Franklin Regional, is the first recipient of a
full two-year scholarship to Westmoreland
County Community College from the
Murrysville-Export Rotary Club. Valued at
$15,000, the scholarship covers full tuition
for four semesters and books. The son of
Todd and Jodi Pangallo, Nathan has already
completed 18 credits at WCCC through
the College in High School program. He is
seeking a Business Finance degree.
This is the first year of the full scholarship
to WCCC from the Rotary Club. Previously,
it had awarded partial scholarships to
Franklin Regional students attending four-
year colleges or WCCC.
Scholarship applications for 2020 will be
posted on the club’s website after the start of
the new year.

innovators and entrepreneurs with the theme

It will feature Pittsburgh innovators in business,
research and the arts.
This festival experience will take place in
Pittsburgh’s Innovation District (Oakland
section of the city), which is at the center
