Mt . Lebanon Genealogy Society Monday , Jan . 13 , at 1 p . m . “ Research in Pittsburgh and Allegheny County ” with speaker Amy E . K . Arner , who specializes in Western Pennsylvania research and editing genealogical works . She has served on the Association of Professional Genealogists Board of Directors and previously was the president of the association ’ s Great Lakes Chapter .

Appalachia : An Overview , with Becky Carpenter Mondays in March ( and one in April ) at 7 p . m . This six-week presentation will focus on the people , resources , food , folkways , arts , and music of the Appalachian region . And yes , we Pittsburghers are Appalachian !
