levels of chess play welcome. Players
need to understand how the pieces
move before registering. For kids

Construct your own electric cigar box
guitar! The first cigar box guitars were
created during the late 1800s and were
popular until the 1950s. Learn about
this lost art and build your own during
this four-day workshop. Presented by
professional music educator Ralph
Toward of the Western Pennsylvania
Center for the Arts. Sign-ups start in

THE BUTTERFLY PROJECT
10 a.m., Monday, July 23
The Holocaust Center of Pittsburgh
presents this meaningful,
intergenerational program designed
to engage families with Holocaust
history. Participants will learn about
children who died in the Holocaust;
each participant will receive a card with
the story of a specific child. They will
then paint a butterfly inspired by the
story of that child. Butterflies will be
displayed in the library. For school-age
children and a caretaker.
