SOUTH HILLS CHILDREN’S
CHOIR PERFORMS AT
BEVERLY HEIGHTS
PRESBYTERIAN
The South Hills Children’s Choir performed
its spring concert, “Until We Meet Again,” at
Beverly Heights Presbyterian Church in Mt.
Lebanon on May 12. The Chorale (touring
choir) also shared a night of song on June 9 at
St. David’s Episcopal in McMurray. The concert
featured music by Aaron Copeland, Franz
Schubert, John Rutter, and James Mulholland,
as well as the Brazilian dance number “Nesta
Rua,” Queen Lili’uokalani’s “Aloha ‘Oe” with
traditional ukulele, and a variation on Jimmy
Yancey’s blues number in “An Evening Falls.”
Guest artists included violin and percussion duo
The Willis Duo.
The South Hills Children’s Choir is under the
direction of Jennie Nolan and accompanied
by Patricia Reavel. Its mission, as a nonprofit
community children’s choir, is to impart beauty,
grace and integrity in all of the singers, enriching
the lives of youth from all backgrounds.
