A history of Kaufmann ’ s Department Store is at 7 p . m ., Tuesday , April 23 . Presenter Robert O . Stakeley is the History Center Affiliates Program manager at the Senator John Heinz History Center . The evening will include many never-beforeseen ( nor published ) images and archival materials . Those attending the program are invited to share with the audience their stories and memories of Kaufmann ’ s , including mementos . Presented in collaboration with the Historical Society of Mount Lebanon .
Friends of the Library Spring Plant Sale will be 10 a . m . to 2 p . m . on Saturday , May 11 . Hanging baskets , herbs , flats of annuals — from begonias to vinca . Order forms available at mt-lebanon-book-cellar . myshopify . com and are due Friday , April 26 . Limited number of flats and herbs will be available on sale day as well as a variety of quality perennials at bargain prices ( all plant specimens are donated from local gardens , appropriate for our growing conditions in Western Pennsylvania . MidSummer Night ’ s Folk Festival from 6 to 9 p . m . Friday , June 14 , will be a free , all-ages , family-friendly event celebrating the upcoming solstice . 34th Annual Mt . Lebanon Public Library Garden Tour is 11 a . m . to 4 p . m . Sunday , June 23 . This self-guided tour will feature seven Mt . Lebanon gardens . Tickets can be purchased at mtlebanonlibrary . org . The tour will be held rain or shine . Program books will be available to pick up at each of the garden locations .
The Montour Trail — A Pennsylvania Gem will be a program at 3 p . m . on Wednesday , June 12 . Patricia Friedsam from the Montour Trail Council Board of Directors will discuss the route , the bridges and tunnels , the landscape and vegetation of the 55.9-mile trail , one of the longest suburban rail trails in the United States .
