April 15: Helen Shimek, leader of the DNA Special Interest
Group of the Erie Society for Genealogical Research, will give
a talk on using DNA in your genealogy research.
May 20: Rich Venezia, who owns the Pittsburgh-based
genealogy research firm Rich Roots Genealogy, will give a
talk titled “Discovering Your Immigrant Origins: Exhausting
Every Resource.”
BOARD GAME NIGHT

A fun night of strategy and competition playing Euro-style
board games.

Stop by for a challenging and fun evening playing the
American version of Mah Jongg. The first Thursday of the

AARP DRIVERS SAFETY CLASS
10 a.m., Saturday, May 4
This one-day class is for people who have taken the full
course within the past three years. Register at 412.531.1912,
ext 209. Space is limited! For questions about the class,
call the instructor, John Spavaro, at 412.531.5690. Cost is
$15 for AARP members; $20 for nonmembers (payable at
class). At this class, you’ll learn the current rules of the road,
defensive driving techniques, and how to operate your
