CHABAD OF THE SOUTH HILLS PROGRAMMING
12th Annual Women’ s Spring Event
Guest speaker Laurie Lans, U. S. military officer who served multiple tours in Iraq and Afghanistan, will be featured at the 12th Annual Women’ s Spring Event on Tuesday, Apr. 24.
While stationed in war zones, Lans upheld her duties not only militarily but also as a Jew despite the obstacles she faced. Hear her stories of events such as a giant menorah lighting ceremony in Baghdad and how she and her husband were the only rabbi and spouse sent by the U. S. military for a one-year tour to Afghanistan.
In her talk, Lans will also describe some of the amazing people she met along the way in both Iraq and Afghanistan— Jews from around the world who were just as surprised to see her as she was to meet them.
The evening will begin at 6 p. m., at Chabad of the South Hills, 1701 McFarland Road, 15216. Enjoy a light dinner, silent auction and raffle prizes. For more information and to register, visit chabadsh. com or call 412.344.2424. n
