Struggling to find a job? Underemployed? WorkAble can help by combining the services of career counselors, regional employers and volunteers to provide seamless services in geographically diverse locations throughout Allegheny County. Funded through the United Way of Allegheny County, WorkAble takes a holistic approach to helping people with their job search. Job seekers will work closely with a career counselor to create and implement a job search plan. WorkAble provides access to free one‐on‐one career counseling, workshops, employer‐hiring events, career fairs and networking opportunities. Card Making with Kathy Shomo 1 p. m. and 7 p. m., Thurs., April 20
Kathy Shomo will show you how to make lovely, one-of-a-kind cards to give to friends and family, using the simplest of tools: scissors and a glue stick! Each participant will complete four ready-tomail cards. For ages 11 to adult. All supplies provided. Registration required at 412.531.1912.
Needle Felting on Denim 7 p. m., Mon., April 24 1 p. m., Tues., April 25 Felting artist Judé Ernest will teach you how to needle felt safely on your own denim garments or denim material. Every student will have the opportunity to embellish their own denim garment using a variety of wool fibers and tidbits. Students must bring their own denim garment( jeans, jacket, skirt, vest, denim yardage). Call 412.531.1912 to register.
Wet Felted Butterflies with Judé Ernest 7 p. m., Mon., May 8, and 1 p. m., Tues., May 9
Learn the basic wet felting skills necessary to create a one‐of‐a-kind Wet Felted Butterfly to wear or display. Bring a terry cloth dish towel. Register at 412.531.1912.
Beading for Mother’ s Day 7 p. m., Wed., May 10
In this enjoyable, beginner-level class, Kathy Shomo will teach you to design and construct a beautiful, beaded piece of jewelry. You may choose from several projects using an array of quality beads, including glass, metal, and semi-precious stones. Kathy, author of Anyone Can Bead!, is an artist-instructor with more than 20 years of experience introducing newbies to the joy of beading. All supplies provided. Worldwide Knit in Public Day 10 a. m., Sat., June 10
Mt. Lebanon Public Library’ s Knitting and Crochet Group will be in the library’ s courtyard celebrating Worldwide Knit in Public Day. Needles and yarn will be available if you’ d like to join in. If it rains, the group will knit inside near the magazines.

This class is appropriate for school-aged children through adults and will provide information about Citizen Science and how you can help scientists by observing, identifying, photographing, chronicling, and collecting data for real‐world science.
April: Hummingbirds. Discover fascinating facts about these feisty little flying jewels and how you can help hummingbirds. The Audubon Society of Western Pennsylvania’ s Citizen Science Series encourages people to make their yards inviting to hummingbirds and then report on who visits.
May: The Lost Ladybug. Did you know that there is more than one kind of ladybug? There are lots! And some of them are disappearing. Be a ladybug citizen scientist with us. We’ ll learn all
