WHAT’S NEWS IN MOON TOWNSHIP Robin Hill Park Winter Event – Sat., Dec. 3, 9 a.m.- 1 p.m. Come out to Robin Hill Park where the Moon Township Garden Club will be hosting their annual Greens & Things holiday sale, the West Hills Art League will have art for sale, the Piece and Quilt Club will have their work available for purchase, and the Old Moon Township Historical Society will be welcoming visitors to the Coventry Log Cabin. FOUR MAHS STUDENTS NAMED SEMIFINALISTS IN 2017 NATIONAL MERIT SCHOLARSHIP COMPETITION Kyle Buzza, Sean Kennedy, Nikhil Maheshwari, and Michael Montelone were among 16,000 semifinalists in the nation. The 2017 National Merit Scholarship Program selects semifinalists based on about 1.6 million individual 2015 Preliminary SAT (PSAT)/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test (NMSQT) scores. Less than one percent of seniors are selected as semifinalists. Once semifinalists are selected and announced, the high school seniors must submit an application to be considered for finalist scholarships. About 15,000 students will be selected as finalists, of which 7,500 will receive scholarships. MOON TOWNSHIP EVENTS: Halloween Spooktacular – Wednesday, Oct. 26, 4:30 - 6:30 p.m., Moon Park. Volleyball team, said, “It was great to be able to introduce our team to one of their role models and get them excited for our season and for their entire volleyball careers. OLYMPIAN AND CLEARVIEW MEMBER CHRISTA HARMOTTO DIETZEN VISITS CREDIT UNION Olympian, World and NCAA Champion Christa Harmotto Dietzen visited with Clearview employees and members at Clearview’s Main Office in Moon Township. Dietzen represented the United States and her hometown of Hopewell as captain of the Olympic Women’s Volleyball team in Rio this year. She and her family are also longtime Clearview members. During her visit, Dietzen posed for photos and signed autographs for Clearview members, employees and their families after touring the facility.
