ANSWER THE CALL
If you’ re looking for a way to serve your community, you might consider answering the call to care for your neighbors.
The Moon Township Volunteer Fire Company is the busiest at-home response fire company in Allegheny County! It answers approximately 800 fire and rescue calls per year, and accomplishes that with an all-volunteer staff of 50 members.
Eligibility requirements include successfully passing a background screening, living close to one of the fire station areas, and a willingness to answer emergency calls and complete firefighter training.
There is also a Junior Firefighter program for those ages 14 to 18.( Parental permission is required, and participants must have good academic standing.)
This is a great way to serve friends and neighbors when they need help the most. If you’ d like to be part of a tradition that began in 1934 with the Allegheny County Fire Company 197, visit moontwpfire. com.
