and were cut off from technology and the outside world. “We were off in the wilderness with
a really good sense of tranquility and serenity,” he says.
Eric’s parents also introduced him to music, which he says will always be important to
him. He plays piano and guitar, and names Jim Croce and Cat Stevens as favorite musicians.
Eric has also played the trumpet in the Moon Area High School marching band for four
years.
“Music is probably one of the most important things to me,” he says. “It is a good outlet,
coping mechanism and distraction.”
And while Eric plans to study business at Kent State University next year, he says he will
never lose interest in playing instruments and performing. ■
