Both exercise and nutrition are equally important when it comes to leading a healthy lifestyle, but both must be done in the proper way. Add Exercise to Your Routine – Once you establish exercise into your everyday routine, it becomes a healthy habit allowing you to look forward to activity and enjoy what you are doing. 3. Mix it Up – Just like with any day-to-day routine, if you are doing it constantly, you’ll start to simply go through the motions. Exercise is no exception, varying exercises and working different muscle groups will prevent your body from falling into a routine. 4. Add FUN to Your Exercise – Although easier with nicer weather, this is very attainable in the winter as well. For indoor activities, try an exercise class at a gym. When the weather is nice, choose outdoor activities that are fun for you. By adding FUN to your routines, you will eliminate feelings that exercise is work, allowing you to enjoy it. 5. Cross Train – For that summer body, add cross-training exercises to your routine. Mix cardio activities with strength training activities into “super sets.” This is the most effective way to burn calories and lose weight. Add plyometrics, core, and posture exercises as well. An example of a super set would be: one minute of cardio, 10-12 tricep dips, 10-12 v-ups and 10-12 lunges with each leg, all completed three times.
