About the Walk-in Injury Clinic
The convenience of seeing an expert on a weeknight can expedite the remainder of your care. The provider will evaluate your condition, and they can do an x-ray on the spot if needed to diagnose your injury. You will likely leave your walk-in appointment with one of the following:
• Order for an MRI or other imaging to more precisely diagnose your injury.
• Nonsurgical treatment plan, which may include rest, medications, injections, etc.
• Recommendation to follow up with UPMC Rehabilitation Institute for physical therapy, which can take place at one of their 60 + locations nearest to you.
• Follow-up appointment to see a primary care sports medicine physician for further evaluation or to see an orthopaedic surgeon for surgical evaluation.
Regardless of your care plan, your care team will collaborate to ensure a seamless transition from one provider to the next.
