THE MOON AREA HIGH SCHOOL PERFORMING ARTS STUDENTS LIT UP THE STAGE WITH THEIR RETURN PERFORMANCE !
For nearly two years , the Moon Area High School Performing Arts students were unable to do what they do best — perform ! But in November 2021 , they were able to come roaring back with a bang , as they presented the popular stage show “ High School Musical .”
Robert Michael , English teacher at Moon Area High School and the theater producer and director , says , “ Educationally , it ’ s my responsibility to teach our students the ins and outs of the theater and building a show . But ‘ High School Musical ,’ [ unbeknownst ] to me , provided a much more valuable lesson of love and acceptance in incorporating these values into our everyday lives .”
After so long with only a darkened theater for inspiration , it was wonderful for the community to see the students in the spotlight once again . “ It was a beautiful sight to see these incredibly talented young adults come together and celebrate life with this amazing production !” says Michael .
Opening night just happened to fall on Veterans Day , making the event even more special . The cast took a moment to celebrate all veterans by asking them to stand up so they could be recognized . The audience responded with thunderous applause .
And the show was a big hit with the audience as well . It ’ s good to see the arts returning to the energy and excitement of live performance , and everyone is eagerly looking forward to the next show .
