Whether you’ re a teen preparing for your first gynecological exam, a mother-to-be dealing with a high-risk pregnancy, or a woman in midlife preparing for menopause— UPMC Magee-Womens can help you feel your best at every stage of life.
“ When women are able to connect to care close to home, they become more confident and proactive about their health,” says Annmarie Lyons, MHS, vice president, Women’ s Health Service Line at UPMC.“ They tell us they’ re able to build stronger and more lasting relationships with their providers. That’ s why UPMC is so committed to bringing women both traditional ob-gyn and specialty care into their communities.”
Delivering Pioneering Care … Close to Home
For more than a century, excellence in women’ s health care has been synonymous with UPMC Magee-Womens Hospital in Pittsburgh. As one of the country’ s top-ranked centers of medicine and research for women’ s health, it is known for:
• Pioneering services in fertility therapy and preservation.
• Specialized care for issues including pelvic pain and menopause symptoms.
• Leadership in fetal diagnosis and treatment.
• Comprehensive maternal fetal medicine for high-risk pregnancies.
• Complex genetic testing to identify and interpret health risk factors.
• State-of-the-art care for gynecologic cancers.
“ In recent years, we’ ve steadily expanded our expert care directly into the communities we serve,” says Lyons. She reports that UPMC Magee-Womens providers— which include ob-gyns, midwives, physician assistants, and nurse practitioners— now provide care for women at more than 160 locations in Pennsylvania. Babies are delivered at 15 UPMC hospitals. Virtual visits and online scheduling make access even more convenient.
“ Our goal is to deliver basic and advanced care to women where they are and when they need it,” says Lyons.
