Students Shine on Stage at the Mancini Academy
The Henry Mancini Academy at
Lincoln Park Performing Arts Center makes high-quality training in the creative and performing arts available and affordable for students at every level of interest, experience and ability in a world-class professional setting that is safe and supportive.
The Lincoln Park Performing Arts Center is an arts and education facility in Midland, Pa featuring exceptional studio, classroom and performance space.
Meg Pryor was brought on board as the director of the Henry Mancini Academy last September. A graduate of NYU’ s Tisch School of the Arts, she returned to the Pittsburgh area( where she grew up) after 20-plus years living and working in New York. She has an extensive background as performer, teacher and choreographer. With both ongoing and periodic classes, workshops and seminars in dance, music, and theater, Mancini Academy provides an inspiring and nurturing environment for students ages 3 to adult to discover their own unique potential through creative artistic expression. The academy’ s experienced, professional faculty provides the finest dance, voice and acting training in a positive, challenging and nurturing environment. It is dedicated to the development of not only strong musical theater performers, but more importantly, strong, responsible, happy people.
In combination with providing the highest quality of training for students, it is the Mancini Academy’ s belief that opportunities for stage performance are an integral part of the development of musical theater performers. That is why it offers a Performance Project each semester, as well as in the summer camps. The spring 2017 production of Disney’ s The Jungle Book Kids marked the beginning of that effort, which was an overwhelming success. The staff looks forward to watching the student performers take the stage by storm again this fall— in a musical review of selections from hit Broadway shows— as well as continuing to offer opportunities for them to perform at various events and functions throughout the community. This is a particularly important element of the academy’ s programming, as it not only
affords the students additional performance avenues but also fosters a sense of community and commitment to others, which speaks to the core mission of the Henry Mancini Academy and Lincoln Park Performing Arts Center.
Whether your child longs to meet friends who share in their love of singing, dancing and acting, or hopes to work with like-minded professionals who can guide them in their pursuit of a career in musical theater, the Henry Mancini Academy is a welcome home for them. The fall semester begins September 11, and registration is open now! Visit manciniacademy. com or call 724.576.4644 x1311 for more information.
