THE MONROEVILLE
FOUNDATION HOSTS 16TH
ANNUAL MONROEVILLE JAZZ
FESTIVAL
On Saturday, August 18, the sweet sounds of jazz
filled the Tall Trees Amphitheater in Monroeville for
the 16th Annual Monroeville Jazz Festival.
This year’s festival featured Funky Fly Project,
Yoko Suzuki Trio, Jevon Rushton with Stacia Abbott,
and nationally acclaimed YAMAHA artist Emmet
Cohen Trio.
Over the years, the Monroeville Jazz Festival has
grown to become a regional event. Through the
generosity and support of many business community
sponsors, the festival has a long list of notable past
local performers including Benny Benack, Harold
Betters Quartet, Etta Cox, Al Dowe Quartet, and
Roger Humphries and nationally acclaimed Tony
DeSare, Adam James, Lisa Ferraro, and Carolyn
Perteete—to name just a few.
The Monroeville Foundation was pleased to
welcome back Bob Studebaker as the Master of
Ceremonies for this year’s Jazz Festival. The festival
also included a great line of food trucks and craft
beer presented by Rivertowne Brewery.
The event was made possible through the generous
sponsorship support of UPMC East, TribLive,
Dollar Bank, Biondi Motors, The Healing Center,
Visit Monroeville, WZUM Jazz Pittsburgh and many
more local businesses.
