WHAT’ S NEWS IN MONROEVILLE
AHN OPENS SECOND CARDIAC CATHETERIZATION LAB AT FORBES HOSPITAL
Allegheny Health Network( AHN) has opened a newly renovated cardiac catheterization lab at AHN Forbes Hospital, significantly expanding access to advanced heart care for patients in Monroeville and eastern Allegheny County.
The six-month project modernized the hospital’ s second cath lab and complements other recent upgrades, including an advanced electrophysiology lab and hybrid operating room.
The new lab features the Philips Azurion FlexArm imaging system, allowing physicians to perform more complex procedures with greater precision, efficiency, and patient safety. It will also enable the hospital to expand services such as stroke-prevention procedures for patients with atrial fibrillation.
Hospital leaders say the expanded capacity will help the facility treat a
growing number of cardiac patients more quickly— especially during emergencies such as heart attacks— while allowing more people to receive high-level care close to home.
The investment reinforces Forbes Hospital’ s role as a regional center for advanced heart care and supports its ongoing commitment to high-quality, evidence-based treatment, recognized by the American Heart Association.
